Capitalism will eat us all

First it came in the name of being free
and having dignity
no more slavery
Then it gave us recession
We turned on ourselves
Austerity’s court was in session
boom and bust
lusting after other peoples wealth
Tax havens for the rich governed by stealth
then came war epidemics and famine
we turned on ourselves
shops shelves bare
we only care
about our own
immigrants were the first to be enslaved or deported
then the disabled who couldn’t work
were eaten up but the system
Under the guise of fairness,Eugenics
and pandemics
then the working class were enslaved again
under the pen
and keyboards of corporations
The middle class became the working class again
While billionaires became trillionaires
Meanwhile planet earth festered and burned
and the rich found that you can’t eat digital currency and cash
as we dreamt of a bubble that burst like a infected gash.
Love was always the answer
hatred is a cancer
I wonder when we realise the path we are on
was the wrong one

Trying to save the girl in the fire

Angels are just messengers

I know the world cries out for a saviour

I have been fighting for good behaviour

in amongst demons and nay sayers

no one heralded me

no angels,no wise men and shepherds

every woman whispered “am I your Sophia?”

I carried it as a riddle

god was on the fiddle

They said I was the escape artist

of this life

this prison

a schizophrenic

but they didn’t know I was brave enough to think beyond

that stereotype

I know I am right

delusion sometimes is the only solution

love the illusion of separation

everywhere everyone is in chains

just fighting for scraps

a poet kept under raps

and speeches

I fight to teach

I just want to save the girl in the fire 🔥

but it could go to the wire.

Welfare cuts

A poverty trap

now a map

for the after life

If there is even one

work work work

in this god forsaken land

until you drop down dead

Because the retirement age has gone up

drink from a cup of black coffee

If you can afford it

cut back your life

until you’re a skeleton on the doll

lose your independence until your just a ghost of a soul

Go to the dentist get fleeced

be told to live within your means

and be told your disabled and unclean

til all of humanity are hard and mean

and there’s no kindness in this world

in any boy or girl

we live in a vicious Victorianesque country

where productivity and making more billions and billionaires is the only reason for living

and poverty is unforgiving

As we eat the scraps and take the meds

of a capitalist world view

that doesn’t care about anything but making more profit.

Family tree

You were born from a tree

Family,

Branches dances

Haunted by love

bearing fruit

with roots

in the darkness of the ground

We’ve waited for the leaves to grow

from sapling relationships

to the rain that drips

onto your trunk

I am my grandads whistling tunes

My grandmas stitches and knitted fate

My uncles smile

my aunts stern determination

my own righteous indignation

and individuality

Those contrasts sought through things that our missing

two lovers kissing

married through the rings of time kept with the trunk of the family tree

from the care sown

all saplings are grown

And given light if we talk through our roots

and fungal connections and collective consciousness

we are all

everywhere everything at once!
